Lucas Stanislaus was to meet with Professor Donovan with hopes of getting some insight into the murders that had been happening in many areas of Ireland. Lucas knew all about vampires but most people would think him crazy if he would have suggested such a thing. He knew of them because he had been fighting them for many years, since they had caused his family's demise.

Kat Donovan has secrets of her own. The most important one being that she is a shifter and her father is a vampire. She's had to keep these secrets for fear of what would happen to her father and herself if anyone were to find out.

Kat Donovan, upon laying eyes on Lucas, decided that before he left town she would be in his bed. The main thing on Lucas's mind when he woke up the morning after meeting Kat was the erotic dreams he had about her.

Both decided that they would team up and work together to solve the murders. Kat worries that if their secrets are found out that everything could change and she could lose her father. Lucas doesn't understand how he could feel this way about someone he just met but he would never let anything happen to Kat. As they fight against the evil vampires, passion flairs between the two, leaving them wondering if they could save the other and defeating the evil that lurks.

This well-written book by Temple Hogan has many twist and turns. It has a little of everything, like I love my books to have. There is lots of action, romance, and suspense to hold your attention. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering who did it and then you're very surprised when the villain is exposed. I will continue to read Ms. Hogan's books and am anxious to see if she has more in store for Lucas and Kat. Good job!
