Dishonorable Intentions
Cassandra had to get away, her father found a husband for her, one that she cannot possibly marry. He's a tyrant and she can't understand how her father doesn't see this. She has to find a way out of the marriage and the only thing she can do is hide until she can figure out how. What better place to hide than as a maid. She finds employment in the home of Nathan Conway, the new Viscount Radcliff.

Cassandra is not your typical maid and Nathan is not viscount material either. When they first meet, she mistakes him as someone who works in the stables. Being someone who was raised as royalty, she usually tells it like she sees it, and told Nathan that he wasn't very capable of the position he was in. That evening, she's called upon to meet with the new viscount and will discover whom he was.

Nathan, not wanting the position he's inherited and hasn't been formally trained for, isn't one to be governed by etiquette, he finds Cassandra intriguing and refreshing. He decides to punish her for the way she treated him by taking her to the country estate he'd inherited and making her work there as punishment. They realize that they both have the same enemy, but will they be able to work together as they fight for their lives and a love that can possibly never be.

This book shows us how life really was. The difference between the peers of the realm and the people working to survive as well as how difficult it was to fit in and how hard it was to have a peer convicted of a crime, even if they were guilty. Shannon Steeves has managed to write a heartwarming story that will break your heart at points while making your heart sing at other times. It makes you believe that justice can prevail.
