A Midnight Dance
In this novel, Sabine Laurent, a gently born miss, is forced to give her innocence to a man she once idolized but now despises. Everything she knew, everything familiar has been taken from her - her father has died, her sister is reportedly dead as well, and her family will be put out from their home if she cannot find a way to meet the exorbitant taxes levied against their property. She concocts a plan to relieve her hated enemy, the son of the disgraced Moutier family, of his hoard of silver to resurrect her family's financial position, but soon finds herself caught in a trap of her own making...a trap of passion and desire.

Jules Moutier was a privileged son of a privileged family until his father's seditious ways got them stripped of their titles and lands. He is forced to turn to privateering to make ends meet and (hopefully) earn enough money to buy back his ancestral lands. He is distracted however, when he encounters a silver-eyed, pale-haired beauty who freely gives him solace in her body. When he finds out that she deceived him so that she could steal the funds he has painstakingly accumulated, he vows not to trust her. But, he still wants her...

Lila DiPasqua's A Midnight Dance is a steamy reworking of the well-known Cinderella story. Very early on in this tale, the passion reaches a fever pitch and sparks fly between these two stubborn and emotionally wounded people. Jules is a noble, proud man bent on reviving the grandeur of his family's position, while Sabine's sense of duty and responsibility toward her family is commendable. Both are caught up in their own agenda, and the clashes between these two, both in and out of the sack, are powerful. Drama, passion, and steamy loving are the keywords for this book. Four Angels.
