Dreams of Desire is a look at how fun it can be to depart from a staid, boring life and walk on the wild side. John is a complex character, full of angst and afraid to hope that he can find true love. His family is a pretty mess, to say the least, with his scandalous mother, his viperous step-mama, his worthless half-brother, and his scheming, debauched twin wards. This guy has a lot to overcome to find someone in his life to trust. Lily is very sweet and determined; her devotion to John is impressive, and her back-story creates much sympathy for her. There was a lot going on in this book, and the author did a good job of resolving the many characters' situations. Four Angels!
