Heart Search
Heart Search is the latest novel in the Celta series.

Camellia Darjeeling is a woman alone, the owner of a thriving teashop business and an entrepreneur. She has suffered greatly at the hands of her father and uncle, who seem to thrive on her fear and disgust of them. They steal from her continually, raiding her home and terrorizing her, despite her repeated complaints to the local authorities. To make matters even worse, she knows who her HeartMate is and she has followed his life as he married the wrong woman. When his attention focuses on her, her distrust of men surfaces and colors their relationship in spite of her feelings for him. Can their connection survive her tumultuous past experiences?

Laev T'Hawthorne made a gigantic mistake when he wed a woman he thought was his HeartMate; she turned out to be a vicious, narcissistic cheater who stole valuable artifacts from his family. With her death, he lost a big part of himself, and now, years later, he is only beginning to reclaim his pride. When he encounters Camellia and sparks fly between them, he must learn to place his trust in her. Soon, his feelings become serious, and he has to weigh the risks of putting his heart in another's hands versus staying alone and keeping his heart whole. Danger from an unknown source surfaces and threatens Camellia's life; can he save her in time?

Heart Search is a stunning, otherworldly novel of true love and fate set in a Gaelic-flavored futuristic civilization. Camellia is finely drawn, with very authentic fears and gripping emotional baggage. She grows immensely as a character and soon became one of my favorites. Laev is a brooding, wounded hero who isn't quite sure he ever wants to trust a woman again. His fears of love and of making another mistake will greatly endear him to readers and engender sympathy. There was a lot of emotion packed into this book, and the author did a fantastic job of balancing what could have been too much emotion with wonderfully written secondary characters and a great setting. I especially loved the Fams and their meaningful, funny and timely contributions to the storyline. Passion, drama, danger and an out-of-this-world love story - this book has it all! Five Angels!
