Going against what you have lived for so long is really hard to do. Lowering walls around yourself and letting someone in that secret place where you have peace is monumental, especially with an abuse victim. Trust is something that is gradually achieved in a relationship over time. But, this story pushed the limit on love, trust and giving of yourself - all for love. I'm not sure if most of us can do that and I'm a die-hard romantic.
