Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not?
The Chisholms of Texas 1

Jordan Prescott has just lost everything. With nowhere to go after a fire destroyed her New York apartment, Jordan lets her best friend, Jessie Chisholm, talk her into making a fresh start in Jessie's hometown of Deseo, Texas. The Chisholm family welcomes Jordan into the fold and Jessie's brothers would happily give her a more personal welcome, but it is the eldest brother, Xander, who really catches Jordan's eye. Having saved herself for the right man, Jordan immediately knows that Xander is the one; however, Jordan's innocence reminds Xander of a past betrayal which only seeks to infuriate him. Has Jordan lost him before they've even started, or will she finally be the one to melt the ice around Xander's heart?

Ten years ago, Xander Chisholm learned the taste of a woman's betrayal and he's determined never to feel that way again. Since then, Xander has slept his way through half the women in Deseo and not a one has ever tempted him to change his ways, but that all changes when he meets Jordan. Something about her calls to him and makes him want to take a chance on love again; however, the specter of his past betrayal is always hanging over him and Xander worries Jordan will be more of the same. Is it possible Jordan is the woman she appears to be, or is Xander setting himself up for another heartbreak?

Lea Kinkade's debut novel, Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not is one hot little number. It's passionate and emotional and will have readers clamoring for a happy ending. That's easier said than done. Xander may be a total hottie, but his emotional baggage makes it hard to really love his character. He runs hot and cold, seeming to go from one extreme of emotion to another in no time at all. Jordan; however, was an easy character to root for. She was strong and loyal and once she gave her heart away, she was all in. What this book got wrong was the lack of dialogue; sometimes going a few chapters with no conversation whatsoever. That being said, Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not is a good start for Kinkade. I look forward to seeing her growth as a writer and what she has in store for the Chisholms.
