Baiting Ben
Baiting Ben by Amber Kell is the second book in the Moon Pack series.

After filling out numerous forms to prove he is a werekin, Ben is finally allowed into the exclusive club where he hopes to find his mate. Ben is approached by a man, but his scent is all wrong, leaving Ben in the difficult position of getting away from him. Ben is rescued by a stranger, Thomas, who he quickly realizes is his mate. Deep in his heart, Ben morns for the man he left behind, Dillon. In his old pack, when a werekin comes of age they go to a claiming ceremony to find their mate, but when no one chose Ben, he had to decide to stay and wait for his mate to join the pack, or leave. Thomas is elated to have found his mate, but is shocked to find that Ben is a lone wolf. To werekin, pack status is everything and a lone wolf status could cause problems for an area pack. Ben meets Anthony, Alpha Silver's mate, and is amazed when Anthony knows that they are mates, welcoming him to the pack. Benjamin and Thomas spend the next two weeks in bliss until everything comes crashing down when Dillon arrives to claim Ben as his mate. Things quickly get out of hand when Anthony happily congratulates Ben on finding his other mate. What is going on? Ben knows he is only half wolf, but his mother is human, so why does he have two mates?

I quickly fell in love with Ben's loving and inquisitive nature. He was willing to put himself on the line to find his mate, even though he never could forget Dillon. It was fascinating to learn that there are differences in the mating ceremonies. I wonder what other rituals differ from pack to pack. It was hysterical how Anthony was the alpha's mate, but was in no way submissive, causing Silver to walk gently around him! It was sad how Dillon's arrival caused so much upheaval, but it brought forth things about Ben's past that even he was unaware of. The love and connection between the members of the pack was inspiring, as they did whatever they could to protect each other. I loved how Alpha Silver was determined to have Anthony protected when in reality he was more than capable of taking care of himself, in very frightening and concise ways! The loving acceptance between Ben, Thomas and Dillon was wonderful as they began to explore the future together.
