Anthony wishes more than anything that he could join his mate, Alpha Silver, and transform into a wolf to share the joy of running on the full moon with their pack. His not being a werewolf makes him feel like an outsider, even though he knows that Silver's love is unwavering. One full moon, Farro is chosen to stay with him and in his jealousy over Silver causes him to say some things to Anthony that he later realizes is just envy. Anthony's Grandfather, Zeus, arrives and offers him a proposition; he agrees to give him the ability to transform if he stays with him for what will be one week on Earth or seven years in his realm. Anthony agrees, leaving Silver a note and the moment he leaves, Silver knows that his mate is gone. Werewolves need their mates like they need air and each moment Anthony is gone Silver loses more control as he battles control over his wolf who demands to find it's mate. When Anthony's father arrives two day later, he gets very worried when he learns that Anthony is with his grandfather and is determined to get him back. Farro never found his mate so he settled with a woman who gave him a fine son, but when their housekeeper finds out he is gay, she turns on them, calling him an abomination. When Anthony returns, Silver immediately knows he is different and they are determined to work out their differences. Things quickly spiral out of control when Farro arrives home to find his son in shock, Dare, a pack member, missing, and his ex-housekeeper butchered in front of his son. Silver, Anthony, Farro and Dare's mate, Steven, mount a search party that takes them into the fae realm, but will they succeed against an unknown adversary?

It is sad when individuals can't accept themselves as they are. Even with all of Anthony's abilities and his mate, he wanted to change himself to be more like Silver. I can't imagine how lost Silver felt, but his joy when Anthony returned was almost tangibly felt by this reader as the scene unfolded. Experiencing Anthony's new incredible powers as he used them made me think that Zeus somehow knew what was about to unfold and wanted Anthony to have the advanced abilities to keep him safe, or that he wanted to manipulate him for different reasons. You can never tell what Zeus wants and that is half of the fun! Silver will do anything to protect his pack, just like Anthony, and together they are almost invincible if they just believe in each other and their love.
