Rayne Carter is enjoying a nighttime motorcycle ride when he sees a woman who looks like she is about to jump from a bridge. Rayne is not sure what to do. He asks her for a kiss before she jumps, never expecting the kiss to rock his world. The girl is really a guy, Charles Sylvester Piper III, known as Piper. He's blown away by not only the kiss, but also by Ray's invitation to stay at his home. Piper thought that when Ray found out that he was a guy, he would be beaten; instead he finds an offer of friendship and acceptance. Piper finds Ray's family rambunctious, loving and very close nit. Ray is horrified when he learns about the abuse Piper endured from his father and is determined to give Piper the help he needs, even if all they have between them is friendship. Will Ray get his chance with Piper? Can Piper overcome the abuse to find the happiness right in front of him?

Rayne's Wild Ride is a wonderful story about the good one person could do if they reach out to someone in need. There are so many people living in abusive situations not knowing how to get out. Some individuals who attempt to commit suicide could have their lives changed, like Piper, if just one person offers to help them. It was fascinating to experience the love and camaraderie between all the members of Ray's family. Ray's determination to give Piper what he needed even though he wanted much more than friendship between them was inspiring. It was sad how Piper's father wasn't willing to accept Piper and he will never regain his son's love. Piper's determination to stay at home to protect his brother showed the strength of his personality.
