Witch Hunt
Mike is one of the strongest magicians of his time, but fifty years ago, when his lover, Alex, almost manipulated him into destroying the world, he talked The Wizard Council into placing bands of binding, to limit magical abilities. After that, he basically disappeared from the magical world, learning to cope as a human, but he never forgave himself for what he did. Mike is happy to see his best friend Drew, when he and his soul mate, Jerome, come to visit him. Mike quickly learns that Drew is not there just to visit, but to take Mike to meet with The Council because forces are rising to destroy the world and Mike's ex-soul mate, Alex, may be controlling the opposition. Drew and Jerome are determined to help Mike and The Council overcome their foes. Will The Council win the day? Can Mike regain and control his incredible magical powers or will they over power him? Is Mike ever going to find the love he craves?

Witch Hunt is an exceptional story that incorporates magic and magical creatures into a cohesive contemporary story. I can't imagine how Mike controlled the awesome magical powers he had in addition to those he inherited from his family. It was great to experience each of Mike's abilities, how he used them to protect his friends, even though he knew the excruciating pain he would have by using them. It was remarkable how the forest came alive after Mike performed a spell so its inhabitants could protect themselves from the impending dangers ahead. I was fascinated how Mike's spell fifty years ago split his lover into both good and bad personalities and amazed that they were able to stay alive. The need to be loved is universal, but to finally find that special one, like Mike did, was lovely to see.
