Lars and Prince Neskaya are warriors for their people. Lars doesn't know why, but Prince Neskaya chose him to be friends with him above everyone else. Other people made comments about how strange Neskaya's looks were, but no one questioned his abilities as a warrior. When their friendship took a more intimate turn, Lars still couldn't figure Neskaya out. Neskaya disappears a lot and the only time Lars sees him is when Neskaya comes looking for him, leaving Lars hungry for him and angry at the same time. Neskaya's and Lars's love is as intimate as it is erotic, but something seems to be missing for Neskaya. When the community calls for Neskaya's death, Lars is determined to find a way to save the man he loves, but as inhuman entities enter the scenario, will Lars and Neskaya's love be enough?

Ms. Li's story Neskaya is a beautiful love story where the road to happiness isn't always smooth. Neskaya was never completely accepted by most of their people and it made him an easy target. It is sad when communities today react to people who are different much as Neskaya's people did. Lars's ability to see the beauty within Neskaya was in the end what made him become the successful leader he was later in life. The love between Lars and Neskaya was obvious in the way they fought to protect each other, but sometimes love itself may not be enough. I was fascinated with Neskaya as his story was unveiled as he was willing to give up his very life to protect the ones he loved. Thanks go to Ms. Li for an incredible story.
