Bloodsong
Book Two of Midnight Playground
One hundred years ago, Aleron lost the love of his life and since then, he has done all he can to avoid falling in love again. These days, he spends most of his time practicing BDSM at Midnight Playground, an exclusive vampire club that only invites the most beautiful to join. He usually chooses men for companions to avoid the temptation of falling for another woman, but upon first sight of Meeraj, he can no longer remember the reasons he's stayed away from women. He wants her and nothing is going to keep him away.
Meeraj joined Midnight Playground not necessarily to become a vampire, but to find a Dom with enough experience to take her away from the pain of her life for awhile. What she doesn't expect is to have such an immediate connection to the first vampire she meets. Aleron is one of the most beautiful men she has ever laid eyes on, but it isn't his beauty that draws her to him. It's the pain that seems to come from within she sees reflected in his eyes, a pain that seems to mirror her own. Can these two kindred spirits possibly heal one another?
I loved Aleron with his introduction in The Seeking Kiss, book one of Midnight Playground. He gave up his companion out of a selfless desire to see him happy and in love and that made my heart ache for him. I was thrilled to find he would be getting his own happy ending. He was beyond sexy and had compassion that most of his fellow vamps seemed to lack. One of the things I liked best about Meeraj was that she wasn't getting close to the vampires only to become immortal. She only wanted away from her pain. I thought she and Aleron truly were kindred spirits and their connection was easily felt by this reader. Bloodsong was sweet and spicy and a thoroughly enjoyable way to pass the time. Warning: contains male on male sex (and it was wicked hot!).
