Jared
Jared Gordon loves his town of Pigeon Hollow and will not let anyone interfere with the peace the town has had so far. That changes when a little spitfire of a blond-blue-eyed woman turns his life and heart upside down. In Pigeon Hollow, he is the local Casanova, bedding any woman that comes his way. He knows he is sexy and charming but no one has made him feel that deep attraction like L.A. producer Mandy Morris. Something about this woman makes him want to be more than just her lover. Jared knows that once Mandy's production comes to town, Pigeon Hollow will be popular one minute and a ghost town after she finishes with them. Can he convince Mandy that his town is not the right venue for her production?
Mandy Morris is a Californian girl through and through yet something about cowboy Jared Gordon is making her feel more like a country girl getting her kicks. People around her know her as a workaholic, never mixing business with pleasure. Jared on the other hand is more than a cowboy. He's a devil tempting her beyond any man she has dated before and even though she knows it's wrong, she can't stay away from him. Jared says that Pigeon Hollow should stay the same, like an Andy Griffin town, but she knows this reality show can give a jump to Pigeon Hollow's revenues. Can she let go of her work ethics to be the woman he sees instead of the dull, workaholic that others see her as? Can she convince Jared that Pigeon Hollow needs her business?
Cat Johnson has done it again in her Red Hot & Blue series with Jared. Jared is definitely all cowboy, yet a little old-fashioned in some ways. His whole reaction to Mandy coming in and turning the little town into a reality show was endearing in some ways. He didn't want anything to change, yet Mandy definitely used her womanly wiles to distract him. Cat Johnson did a great job in showing us that even though Jared was somewhat of a Casanova; he still wanted love in his life. The only drawback I had with this book was there wasn't that much about Mandy, but instead focused on Jared. In some ways, it was great, but I wanted to know more about Mandy and didn't get that in this book. The other characters were great, even the scheming ex girlfriend and the deputy cousin was a hoot to read about. All in all, this was a good book.
