Shifting Heat
Shifting Heat by Lynne Connolly is the sixth book in the Storm Series.

Andros was a member of STORM before his sister was changed into a vampire and works as a computer geek for them. STORM's belief is that all Talents and Shape shifters, should have the same right as humans. Many people want to classify them as animals so they can use them a lab rats to uncover their secrets of longevity and special abilities. Andros was dying before a member of STORM turned him into a dragon shifter changing his life.

Faye works for the enemies of STORM and her job is to get into the STORM building to release her boss Harken Nordheim. Faye shifts into her dragon and spots the most gorgeous dragon she has ever seen, Andros. Andros has only been a dragon for one year and still feels awkward with flying, but when he sees Faye, he is compelled to follow her. They have a night together that he doesn't regret until he awakens to find that she has gone and his STORM anklet is missing. No phone or clothes make it difficult for him to return, but when he does, he realizes that Nordheim escaped. Faye feels guilty about duping Andros and starts to see that Harken isn't exactly what she thought. Andros tracks Faye down and she tells him about all the terrible things that STORM represents, lies that the opposition plant in the media. Even though she doesn't believe him, Faye's attraction can't be denied and when they arrive at STROM they realize that she has been under the control of a sorcerer, probably Harken, to follow his instructions. Will Faye believe the truth about STORM before it is too late? Will Faye and Andros get the chance to explore their attraction? What other nefarious plans do STORM's enemies have proposed and will they unravel them in time?

Ms. Connolly's Shifting Heat is a wonderful, fast-paced story that kept me riveted from the very beginning. I love how all the paranormal aspects fit into the book perfectly to add depth and wonder to it. It was incredible to experience flying with Andros and feel his terror of jumping off the building before he shifted. It must feel a lot like skydiving, but without a safety net! I loved how Andros and Faye played hide and seek in the air. It almost felt like a dance to me as they flew through the sky. I felt so bad for Andros when he had to temporally return to his disabled form for the mission, but with Faye's love and support, he learned that there was more to him than just his disability. I have been waiting for this story and I wasn't disappointed!! I hope that this isn't the end of Ms. Connolly's STORM series.
