Memphis
Memphis by Lynn Hagen is the eight book in the Zeus's Pack series.
Romano worked hard building his landscaping company, taking as many jobs as were available. Unfortunately, he took one job too many putting himself in the position to see a lawyer killed and he has been on the run ever since. It was a good thing he took bodyguard training because he has been using his observational skills and evasive driving to keep one step ahead of the hired killers. Romano has been trying to visit his Cousin Dino in Pride Pack Valley, but he stayed away until he knew it was safe. After entering town, Romano goes to Theo's Bar a Grill to find a place to stay and sees the most gorgeous man, Pudden Tane, who agrees to a quick romp out back. Romano has second thoughts afterwards about the anonymity of the exchange which he has never had before. Tabby, or Pudden, finds himself in jail after leaving the bar and all he can think about is what he did with a total stranger. Tabby is aggravated when Memphis, a warrior in Zeus's pack, arrives to spring him. Memphis knows that Tabby is his mate even though Tabby won't let Memphis near him. An incident occurred in the jail and Memphis takes Tabby to tell Zeus, the mayor, his side of the story and who do they run into but Romano. Memphis isn't thrilled about their liaison even when he realizes that Romano is his other mate. Will Memphis, Romano and Tabby ever find their way together before they kill each other?
Memphis has a twisted and fast moving plot that keeps the reader hooked waiting to see what will happen next. The car chase through the mountains that Romano lived through was thrilling to experience as Romano fought to stay alive. Tabby was a fascinating character who kept the reader wondering if what everyone believed about him was true. Romano and Memphis were the only ones willing to believe what he said when everyone else just thought he was just the town drunk. Memphis's anger about not knowing that hired guns were after Romano, but in reality they had just met and Romano was trying to protect his mates from his past. The love scenes between Romano, Memphis, and Tabby were as erotic as they were comical at times. The guys truly loved being together if they, Romano and Memphis, can just get over their egos. Tabby definitely has his work cut out for him to rein them in and he is just the man for the job!
