Hell to Pay
Lucy and her husband, Jeremy will soon have cause to celebrate. They are expecting their first child. It has been a rough road to get to where they are now. Lucy has already experienced a miscarriage and both Lucy and Jeremy have seen death. It seems that Lucy and Jeremy may not want to crack open that bottle of champagne just yet. Someone is watching them and wants to play a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Hell to Pay is the third and final book in the Live to Tell trilogy. I didn't read the first two books, but was quickly able to figure out who all the major characters were and what the plot was about up to this point. Having not read the other two books, I can't say if I would have felt any differently about Lucy and Jeremy, but I have a feeling that had I read the first two books, my opinion probably wouldn't have changed.

I felt that the characters were just ok. They didn't jump off the pages and grab me like I would have liked. This especially applied to the serial killer who made more of a subtle presence in this book. Even at the end of the story, when the big reveal was made in the identity of the killer, I was like, that is all? Overall, this book was just ok. Though, mystery fans looking for a quick read that isn't too gory, you may want to check out this series.
