Wet & Wild
Ragnor Magnusson is a man at odds with the lifestyle he has been living. He spends his days a-Viking, bedding women far and near and remembering the many family members he lost when their ship disappeared. Ragnor has come to question his existence, and barely even enjoys bedsport anymore. Taking up his sword for a battle at sea, he somehow finds himself in the water and drowning. Is this the end for him? Certainly not! Ragnor awakens to a whole new world with strange customs, ridiculous battle training exercises, odd people and a grouchy chief petty officer who would just love to see him ring right out of the SEAL program. But, the grouch has a sister...
Lieutenant Alison MacLean grew up as the only female in a house of men. Her father and brothers love her to distraction, which mainly means that they want to protect her from pretty much everything. When a SEAL candidate catches her eye, she really isn't looking to jeopardize her position by fraternizing with the man, but she just can't seem to help herself. Ensign Magnusson is smoking hot and he knows how to best utilize all his assets, both in and out of bed. And he keeps talking about how he's a Viking and that they are destined to be together. Has Alison's new crush spent a bit too much time underwater and deprived of oxygen to his brain or is there something to his claims?
Take one Viking, add in a case of mistaken identity, a pinch of time travel, some rigorous SEAL training, and stir. What you get is the side-splittingly hilarious, yet poignant novel Wet & Wild. This is a funny, funny book, and you'll find yourself helplessly hooting with laughter at some of the colloquial expressions that Ragnor manages to murder along the way. This book has heart too, from Ragnor's missing and presumed dead family, to Alison's self-consciousness about her body, to Ragnor taking the steps to move from playboy to something more. While completely improbable (Hello? Time travel, Vikings and Navy SEALs together as plot devices?), this book provides some much-needed lightheartedness and humor that is just perfect for readers who want to take a short break from their realities. There's some pretty hot and heavy loving happening as well, and Ms. Hill certainly keeps the heat blasting in this one. Five Angels!
