Garden of Secrets
This story focuses on Dr. Charlotte Adams and the choice she must make between the two men in her life. On one hand, you have Andrew. He's Charlotte's first love and the man who has followed in her father's footsteps by becoming a minister. On the other hand, you have Joe. He's the chief of police in Angel's Bay and a man who was married until just recently.

Charlotte knows that Andrew wants a second chance to make it work between them, they have a lot in common, and a history, but when she really pictures their life together, she thinks of her mother and knows that she doesn't want the life that her mother had. Charlotte feels a strong attraction to Joe, but with his recent divorce, she always wonders if she's just his second choice.

While trying to figure out exactly what she wants, Charlotte is accused of a crime that has her facing her past and questioning her future with everything she's ever wanted at stake.

Garden of Secrets is the fifth book in author Barbara Freethy's Angel's Bay series. As each book in this series revolves around one central couple, while also touching base with others in the town, these books can be read as standalones but to get the full-flavor of these book, I'd recommend reading them in order.

Charlotte's story is an emotion-laden tale that pulls at your heartstrings as you watch her struggle to come to terms with her past in order to make the decision that will shape her future. The attraction between Charlotte and Joe was tangible, as was the history she shared with Andrew. The mystery was well written, giving the tale a punch of excitement on top of the charming romance and touch of ghostly paranormal. 5 Angels!
