Lucas Chafee and Madeline Durand had a summer romance as teenagers while spending the summer in Shelter Bay, Oregon. It ended with Lucas breaking Maddy's heart and both of them going on with their lives, not seeing each other again until circumstances bring them back to Shelter Bay years later.
