Curtis's Dads
Curtis's Dads by Lynn Hagen is the twenty-third book in the Brac Pack series.

Curtis may be human, but he has known about paranormal creatures ever since his father Mark married a warrior in the Brac Pack. He also knows that Chauncey, a bear shifter, is his mate, but his fathers keep preventing Curtis from being claimed by his mate and he is determined to give his virginity soon. Chauncey wants his mate, but is willing to give Curtis all the time he needs especially when he learns he will be Curtis's first lover, but he can't get near him without interference until Curtis tells his dads he will leave if they don't back off. Curtis almost goes up in flames with Chauncey's touch, but becomes almost hysterical with one intimate request. An old acquaintance returns throwing Curtis into a panic and when the reason is revealed, Chauncey, his family and the Brac Pack is shocked to the core. What terrible secret has Curtis been hiding and can he and Chauncey's love survive the coming troubles?

Many parents tend to be very protective with their children, but Curtis's dads definitely take it to a whole new level. It was hysterical how they managed to arrive at the most importune time embarrassing Curtis completely. I thought that Chauncey was handling the situation very well when he only threatened to take care of them permanently. The love between Curtis and Chauncey was seen in every glance and touch between them. I was horrified by the mental and physical abuse Curtis endured, but his willingness and need overcome his past was inspiring. Chauncey's Dad is wonderful combination of strength, intelligence, and overwhelming love for his family. It was funny how he managed to take control over the Brac Pack mates when their own warriors have never managed it, not even Maverick the pack alpha!
