Let Sleeping Wolves Lie
Let Sleeping Wolves Lie by Tielle St. Clare is the first book in the Welsh Wolves series.

Dex and his friends Reese and Rhian didn't have a pack until Micah came to his rescue, and Dex knew that he had found their alpha. Dex has feelings about things, he has never been wrong before, and they end up purchasing The Red Dragon bar together, taking claim on the surrounding area as their pack land.

Maddock and Monica are looking into purchasing land for development and go to The Red Dragon to wait for the client to call. Maddock used to go to seedy dives like this before he began his rise up the corporate ladder. Dex immediately catches Maddox's eye with his bouncy attitude and flirtatious behavior. Dex likes what he sees when Maddox walks in and he quickly realizes that Maddox is a wolf, and his mate. The only problem is, Maddox doesn't appear to be interested. Dropping a tray of drinks on Maddox makes the situation worse. Maddox leaves in disgust, but he can't get Dex out of his mind, causing him to lose track of conversations in meetings. But, what scares him the most, is an inner consciousness that demands he claim Dex as his own. Maddox doesn't know if he's going crazy, but what else could it be? How will Maddox react when he learns of his inner wolf? Was Dex right about Maddox being his mate?

This is an interesting start to a series. I was a little bit confused about what was happening in the prologue, but once the first chapter began, it became clear. Dex, with his quirky behavior and irresistible optimism, hooked me from the beginning. It was interesting how Micah refused to officially take the position as their Alpha, but did everything he could to protect his small pack. He made a wonderful bouncer with his brooding and aggressive attitude. It was intriguing how Maddox didn't know he was a werewolf until he met Dex and his wolf immediately responded. I can only imagine how terrifying that would be to someone who had no knowledge of the paranormal. It was lucky that Dex and his friends were there to help Maddox through the transition. I enjoyed experiencing the new feelings between Maddox and Dex as their love grew, with both the good, and the bad times.
