Nija's Temptation by Lynn Hagen is the second book in the Christian's Coven series.

Jimmy loves his family, but has always felt different from everyone he knows. He has a hunger deep inside that's never been filled. His family is constantly hinting for him to settle down with either a guy or a girl, but he hasn't found anyone that remotely fills the bill. One night, Jimmy went to a bar called The Manacle and has been having the strangest dreams about vampires, with one coming to his rescue, ever since. But, they don't exist, right? Jimmy's friend, Eli, invites him to go to The Manacle, but Jimmy turns him down to enjoy the beautiful nighttime sky. One night, Jimmy is working as a bartender and notices one guy, Nija, watching him and has a feeling that it's the same guy who saved him in his dream. Nija is keeping an eye out for his mate after he saved him the other night, even though Jimmy doesn't remember the evening since it was erased from his memory. Nija is determined to win his mate over and eventually Jimmy agrees to see him after work. Nija can't stay after sunrise and Jimmy awakens to think he has been dumped again. Nija realizes that there must be something different about Jimmy because the mind wipes aren't working completely, but exactly what it is, he doesn't know. There is always danger in the world of vampires, but will Nija and Jimmy get a second chance before it is too late?

Jimmy is a fascinating character who has a hidden secret that even he didn't know about. I imagine how hard it must have felt to know you were different from everyone you knew, without having a clue about what it was. There are many different types of vampires from the classical killers, to the mellow, fun loving vampires, but the most interesting is Christian, the original vampire. I love reading about the continued loves of Christian and his mates. The love between Jimmy and Nija is apparent when they refuse to give up on each other, even before they accept their bond of love. It was lovely how Nija was determined to protect Jimmy, even when Jimmy denied their bond. The fight between good and evil is never as apparent as the rift between the good and evil vampires as Christian's Coven fights to protect their very lives.
