White Rain by J. R. Loveless is part of the Silver 25 days of Christmas 2011 Anthology.

Brand sorrowfully remembers that last day he and Kia were together as if it were yesterday. Kia always loved winter and lovingly called snow white rain when he was twirling and dancing in the middle of the street on that Christmas Day. Brand thought they would always be together even when Kia left to go away to college. At first, the letters and calls were many, but as time went on they became further and further apart until Brand gave up. Even as the years passed, Brand wasn't able to give up his love for Kia and no one else can take his place. It is Christmas again and Brand's memories remain all that keep him going in a world that remains lifeless without his love. Will Brand and Kia get a second chance at love or is it too late?

White Christmas is a wonderful story filled with the possibilities of the Christmas Season that brought tears to my eyes. It was heartbreaking to experience the grief felt by Brand for his lost love and the turmoil he felt when Kia reappeared in his life. As in real life, there are two sides to every story and Kia's reasons for being away were poignant and tragic as his terrible childhood was revealed. It was wonderful to feel the love between Kia and Brand that only got stronger the second time around. This is one story that I will never forget.
