A Helping of Love
A Helping of Love by Andrew Grey is the third book in the A Serving of Love series.

Peter's life was irrevocably changed when he was hit by a drunk driver, leaving him paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Before that, he was a star runner driven to attain any goal he set, including any man he wanted. After the injury, he was sullen and angry at the world until he decided to fight for his life, leading him to live on his own with a job he loves, and returning to running in his wheelchair. In spite of everything, he hasn't found anyone to spend his life with until the day he meets Russ at the Café Belgie, and for the first time, someone sees him for himself and not just his wheelchair. Peter is immediately attracted to Russ and sees that it's returned until Russ withdraws saying he has a boyfriend. Peter can't get Russ out of his mind, so when they bump into each other while running, he is surprised by the bruises he sees on Russ arms until Barry, Russ's boyfriend, arrives with his overbearing and confrontational attitude, treating Russ like a possession. There is more to Russ's story than he ever expected, but is Peter ready to take another chance at love?

This is a wonderful and heart breaking story about acceptance and the beauty of love. Many handicapped individuals remark about how some people only see their wheelchair, never giving them a chance as they would to a person who can walk. It was remarkable how Russ always seen Peter as the wonderful and sexy man he was, not just a handicapped man. Peter's had his own demons to overcome and when he realized the abuse that Russ was enduring, he was willing to help him any way he could, despite of how dangerous the situation was. The attraction between Russ and Peter was beautiful as their friendship quickly evolved into something they never expected. Russ knew that Barry would never just walk away without a fight, but how far will he go to get what he thinks is his due?
