Ruby Sin is a professional Domme, making her living sexually torturing men. One evening at a fetish party, psychologist Matt sees Ruby dominating a submissive male on stage and he's enamored by the China doll he sees before him. One thing leads to another and soon they're dating-if you could call their occasional outings and heated sex dating. He won't be her sub, but he still accepts her snarky attitude and her secretive manner. Ruby's hiding something, he just knows it, and he's terrified of what he'll learn when her past gets out. Will they be able to turn their fierce attraction into something more, or will he realize their time together is meant to only be the few weeks they've had together.

Ruby certainly demonstrates the stereotypical Domme persona: ice princess, sadistic and witchy. Even during her time with Matt, she never allows him to see her with her defenses down. Interestingly enough, he stays with her through it all; regardless of the clear frustration he has of the situation. Perhaps the chemistry between the two is motivation enough. And the sex is clearly stellar. It's fierce, fast and even rough, with Matt, if anyone, in the dominant role. Both are highly complex characters, and I found myself rooting for their happy ending, even though at times I wanted to haul Ruby over my knee for some spanking therapy to perhaps cure her of her attitude-defenses or not. This new-to-me author did a good job telling this story. I look forward to reading future works by her. 4 Angels.
