One Hot Night
Last year, while Samantha was working as a chef's in her brother's restaurant, she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend and almost killed. Now living in New York, she works as an executive chef for Kalen Industries. During a company party, she meets Austin, a sexy stranger, and has a one-night stand with him. She thinks one night is all they'll have and doesn't want to allow more than that. But Austin won't allow her to hide or run away...even when she learns who he really is and how he came into her life.

Austin is one intense man. He comes at Sam like a runaway freight train and doesn't allow her to breathe. He doesn't slowly take away her defenses. He rips them down like a wrecking ball. His way of loving is sexy, edgy and delicious. Yet, he's one seriously honorable man, staying through Sam's issues, as she rediscovers love and life. Sam puts on a good front. She's competent and assertive, even while remembering her past trauma. She's certainly no shrinking violet. These two strong personalities make the sex molten and ferocious. My only complaint is that the story ceased so abruptly. HEA notwithstanding, I felt that as soon as their happy ending was reached, the author felt it was simply time to stop writing. I wish there was a little more finesse to the way the story ended. Other than that, the plot and the characters were highly entertaining. 4 Angels.
