Alone with Liam
Erin was looking forward to a break from work, so a girl's weekend getaway with friends was just what she needed. But during the drive up, she was caught in a bad snowstorm. She was so going to kill her best friend Penny, who reassured her that the weather would be clear. When she arrives at the cabin and finds out that everything had been cancelled and Liam, the brother of her best friend's husband was there, she was beyond pissed. He had flat rejected her three months prior and she was still embarrassed.

Liam was surprised to see Erin at the cabin since the girl's weekend had been cancelled. She has been avoiding him for three months and he doesn't know why. With the storm raging outside, the lights and telephone go out. As they settle in front of the fireplace to keep warm, the roaring fire matches his roaring desire. They learn that a misunderstanding is the cause of her avoidance. They give into desires and make love, but can the storm strand them long enough for Liam to convince her that she's the girl for him?

This is a very short story, but it's a nice read. Rejection is hard to accept, especially when you are the one being rejected. The irritation and frazzlement of Erin in the beginning was comical. The hero handled the situation very admirably; some men would have taken advantage of a female in a drunken condition so, I have to give him kudos for that. Time and time again lust/love will bring two people together, no matter how you try to avoid it, as demonstrated in this story.
