Irish Enchantment
Bantry Mac Murchadha's nephew Aodhgan stole three "knickknacks" in a bout of youthful folly At a fairy's urging, Bantry undertakes a mission to place these trinkets into the hands of people that can truly benefit from their magic.
Stitches In Time by Diana Hunter - Normally, Liam Finnerty would relish being alone in a romantic country with a beautiful woman, but Maggie is uptight and arctic. The boss's daughter is only interested in business. However when they discover an ancient piece of tapestry, Liam glimpses a side of Maggie that is very appealing. The leprechaun in the tapestry appeals to Liam on more levels than one and he finds himself buying the tapestry. When Maggie learns that Liam bought the coveted tapestry, sparks fly and dreams ignite. Maggie finds that with Liam she can see the dreams she has long since given up on.
Stitches In Time is an original and entertaining short story. The main focus is Maggie and Liam. They each present a pretense to the world that colors their interactions with each other. However, with the discovery of the tapestry and the "magic" it brings into their lives, they each glimpse a part of the others' true self. Maggie's transformation and Liam's support of her will delight readers. Diana Hunter combines various elements such as humor, magic, and light bondage to enhance her story. The passion these two discover flows from the pages and the hints of deeper emotion will keep readers turning pages until the end.
Harpist Bizarre by Sahara Kelly - Fay Krakowski travels to Ireland to escape a failed relationship and the demands of her career. She intends to have a relaxing vacation, but relaxation is the last thing she will get when she finds an old harp. Aodhgan, or Aiden as he is now known, has been trapped throughout time for his youthful mistake. It will take a very special woman to free him and his dreams tell him Fay is just the woman. Fay has dreamt of a man that consumes her senses and her heart. When she buys the ancient harp, she discovers the music her career has silenced and quite possibly she finds the man that could be her heart's muse.
Sahara Kelly has crafted a short story that will delight readers with its magic. The supernatural elements and reality of Aiden and Fay's situation flows together well. The reader will feel their frustration and their passion. The love scenes between them are bold and well written. Ms. Kelly has portrayed Aiden and Fay's personalities well.
Readers will find it easy to relate to the longing and love that develops between these two characters.
Kissing Stone by Tielle St Clare - Kit Bauman has two problems; first, she has to appear on live television and not seem to be a complete moron and two, she is lusting after her best-friend Jax but doesn't want to risk their friendship. While trying to solve her dilemma, she finds herself in a store and subsequently in possession of a very expensive rock. This rock is purported to be a piece of the fabled Blarney Stone and when Kit begins to develop the "gift of gab" she is inclined to believe in the legend. However, when things begin to happen between her and Jax, she is torn between what she wants and the means she is using to get it.
Kissing Stone is this reader's favorite in the anthology. I was drawn in by the humor evident in the characters. There were moments when the outrageous dialogue had me chuckling aloud. The interactions between Kit and Jax as well as the other minor characters revealed very realistic characters. They have fears and desires just like the rest of us. When Kit uses the stone, the resulting scenes sizzle. The love scenes between Kit and Jax are breathtaking and scorch the pages. Tielle St Clare writes forthright and passionate scenes that are ripe with steamy sex as well as deep emotions. I enjoyed the journey Kit and Jax made from friends to lovers and possibly on to something even more meaningful.
Irish Enchantment is a well-conceived group of stories. The prologue and characters create a continuity that is maintained throughout all three stories. Each individual story stands alone and offers readers a unique variation on finding love. When all three stories are combined, you can't go wrong.
