Take a Chance on Me
suspects and only one witness…Hairy. Only Hairy is a mess. Ever since his owner's murder, he howls and barks, claws the floor, and urinates all the time and everywhere. Thomas is at the end of his rope with this dog, so he takes him to the Wit's End Animal Behavior Clinic to see Dr. Emma Jenkins. He was not expecting the feelings that Emma brought to the surface; feelings he hasn't experienced in a long time…if ever.
Emma is a pet psychiatrist. She loves her job and figures she's seen it all when it comes to animals and their owners. That was before Thomas Tobin, big-six-feet-built-best-looking-man-she'd-ever-laid-eyes-on, walked into her office with Hairy, a Chinese Crested; a dog that looks like a rat with a wig. Talk about a mismatch!
Thomas, Emma decides, is a hard man to understand. One minute he's looking at her like he could devour her and the next minute like she'd be the last person he'd be interested in. That doesn't stop her from wanting him though. Emma has been divorced for a year now; she's raising LeeLee, her best friend's daughter, and she wants a man that obviously has as more emotional problems than his dog…could life get any more complicated?
Take A Chance On Me is a book I highly recommend! There is sizzling chemistry, which makes for some scorching scenes between Thomas and Emma. This book will have you laughing out loud, tearing up and reaching for something cold to drink. You fall in love with Hairy and your heart will break for LeeLee. Take A Chance On Me is a page-turner until the very end and leaves you wanting more. This is one for the keeper shelf!
