Love's Captive
After losing the wrestling match to her rival, the "Viking Princess", all Selena wanted to do was take a hot bath and soak her bruises. So, she was very unhappy to find herself in a space ship after being zapped by two funny looking men. Accompanied by other kidnapped Earth women, she was to be delivered to Volarn, a planet in desperate need of fertile women to save their dying race. She had no desire to be a baby factory for aliens, but she couldn't help the desire she felt towards their king, Rhamus. After learning that escape was impossible, Selena knew that she needed to adjust to life on her new planet. Just as she begins to find love with her new husband, she is snatched away once again.
Rhamus did not expect to find love in the first shipment of women from Earth, especially a redhead, the color of his enemies. But Selena's beauty and charm quickly captured his heart. Looking forward to his growing family, he is furious when she is taken prisoner by Xarath, Rhamus's mortal enemy. Knowing that time is of the essence, he must find his wife and save her from the dangerous dark magic of the evil ruler of West Volarn. But will he be able to rescue Selena before Xarath 's wicked powers destroy the new love he has found?
From the first page, Love's Captive will pull the reader into this story of romance and magic. Selena is a strong character in some aspects and a wounded child in others. Hidden trauma from her past makes her more vulnerable then she seems to be in the beginning chapters of this book. She is a deeply passionate, loving character that draws the reader into her life. The black haired Rhamus will give readers a man to dream about with his humor, compassion, and sex appeal. He is a romantic who strives to make Selena's new life as magical as possible.
There are times when the story gets a bit tedious, but once it picks back up, the reader will again be drawn into the action of this fairytale world. Myra Nour is a wonderful author with a talent for story telling. This reviewer looks forward to Heart of the Dragon, the sequel to Love's Captive.
