Ms. duBarry began this delicious tale in The Silk Garters. While it definitely helps to have read that tale first, she gives just enough background in Enslaved so that the reader isn't lost.
Simone travels back to seventeenth century France to visit her enigmatic lover, Andre. She must learn more about him and the secret sex society of Madame Chambray. This time, Andre gives her a choice of leaving the society. In order to leave however, Simone must survive the challenge. The society's rules decree that between Andre and his brother, Louis, the first to bring her to orgasm wins her. It is a challenge that Simone is not sure she will be able to survive.
The sensual world of seventeenth century France is the perfect setting for these stories. Unbridled indulgence allows for the fulfillment of all that one desires. Ms. duBarry deftly handles the advancement of the overarching story without losing the thread of the present one. Sensuality drips from every page, so be prepared with a glass of cold, cold ice water on hand. Either that or your partner. Enslaved is the perfect continuance of a gem of a series.
