Christina Krabbe has just been fired from her job after forcefully and physically telling her boss to keep his hands to himself for the last time. Rather than sit down and cry about her current situation she decides as an American in the great and beautiful country of Alaska she is going to indulge in fun before she hits the unemployment line so she goes out with a charter fishing boat. She is shocked clear down to her toes when she realizes that the grubby boat Captain with whom she has just shared her life story is actually Alexander Baranov II, also known as King Alexander II King of Alaska. She decides to stay at the palace, which he offered, until she is back on her feet not realizing that there are ulterior motives behind his invitation.
David Baranov Crown Prince of Alaska must eventually marry and he figures that "as long as she's young and healthy and wants to have kids" it doesn't really matter who she is. He is stunned when he meets Christina she is like no woman he has met before. On top of being beautiful, she is refreshing in her honesty and no-nonsense personality. His father is positive that she will make a wonderful princess and queen and so he proposes. If they can survive the wedding preparations, then running the country will be a snap.
Mary Janice Davidson writes with humor and a style that makes every book bringing tears down your face from laughter. The Royal Treatment is a romance that bears the Brava signature but is unlike any Brava that I have read before. It lacks the high level of sexual tension that is so prevalent in most of the Brava line but must admit that I did not miss it at all. This wickedly clever book is packed with fascinating characters, family love and loyalty, and surprises to keep you on your toes from beginning to end. A must read for everyone, especially those who enjoy romantic comedy.
