Xylon Warrior Braden Koll is on a mission to locate Alexa Sandor, a DNA-compatible earth woman and return her to his home planet of Xylon. Alexa doesn't know that she is half-Xylon by birth, though she has dreamt about a strange planet since puberty. Suddenly, out of nowhere arrives the sexiest man she's ever seen, claiming to be a warrior from that planet. He explains that she and other compatible earth women are needed to produce children in order to save Xylon from domination by the Egesa - a creature-like race of slavers. Unfortunately, the Egesa are on a mission to sterilize these women and keep them from the Xylon Warriors at all costs.
To prepare for breeding, she must go through an ancient rite called an "Initiation." The temporary side effect of the ceremony is an uncontrollable sexual appetite, which is why three people perform it. Braden has agreed to initiate Alexa, but only if he is allowed to try it alone. After meeting her, he wants this woman for his own. This initiation won't be two strangers completing a rite. It will be a man and a woman bonding together forever in the deepest way possible. Alexa just doesn't know that…yet.
Xylon Warriors - Initiation hooked me from the first paragraph! Ruth Kerce has written a story hot enough to curl your eyelashes, yet romantic enough to make you sigh. The emotional connection between Braden and Alexa seems genuine. His possessiveness and protectiveness of Alexa make for one sexy alpha hero! At the beginning of the Initiation, Alexa is at the mercy of her magnified libido, but learns to take the initiative to get what she wants, something she's never done before.
Ms. Kerce does an excellent job of writing secondary characters that are fully fleshed out (including the bad guys), making Initiation a well-rounded, enjoyable read. Braden's friends Eric and Kam are also part of the team searching the galaxy for compatible women, and what a sexy group of warriors they are! Initiation is slated to be the first book in the Xylon Warriors series. I, for one, cannot wait to journey further into Ms. Kerce's world of sexy alpha warriors!
