After two years of hard work, Verity Reed is almost finished restoring a collection of Ancient Roman artifacts. Her final project is an unusual dagger. While thinking out loud about the person who had once owned it, a very sexy man in Roman dress appears. Verity's first thought is that he's an actor practicing for the exhibit's opening. She soon discovers that he is Drago, an ancient Roman warrior cursed to spend eternity as slave to whoever possessed the dagger. As Verity learns what Drago has endured through the ages, she wants to free him from the curse. But Morrigan, the Celtic goddess who cast the spell, doesn't intend to let him go easily.
Who wouldn't want their own personal gladiator skilled in pleasure? Drago is an alpha male all the way, that by itself is hot. The fact that Drago saw past Verity's imperfections made him even sexier. Verity's insecurities made her an endearing heroine who is easy to relate to.
Ms. Sloe does an excellent job of infusing her story with sensuality without overdoing the explicit language. Roman Dagger is a short, but very satisfying read that I highly recommend!
