While at a club with his cousin Vance, Phaeryn's not interested in any of the women there, but he sends out his call. The call is answered by Kayla Taeney. She does not fit his conditions for the future mother of his children. She is tall, outspoken but her body answers his call. They share a night a passion but can this relationship last past the first night?
Ms. Evans' book is filled with highly erotic scenes between the two protagonists. They are highly charged sexually and they take full advantage of it. This book is quite short; encompassing only 58 pages thus the background information of Ms. Evan's "vampire" society is minimal. However, she does provide the reader with two very likable leads. Phaeryn comes across as an over-the-top Alpha male but he is quick to adjust his position especially when he is force to. He has a tough exterior but soft interior. Kayla is a strong woman who speaks her mind. Unfortunately, neither needs to speak out loud as they can read each other's thoughts which provides many amusing moments. This was an extremely fast and entertaining read. This reader hopes this will be a continuing series because we would love to explore the planet Vampyr and their inhabitants more thoroughly.
