Chloe Monroe and her friend, Terri, are searching for mushrooms for a class. They get lost in the forest and come upon a ring of them. Chloe explains to her friend about how they were supposed to be magical. People use to think that fairies made them and if you chant or dance in it your wish would come true. Chloe jumps in and wishes for her soulmate - the man who she can love, and will love her, passionately forever. She passes out and wakes up naked! She has been transported back in time to Scotland and the man who finds her is Sean Frazier, Laird of his clan.
Chloe is a modern woman dropped into the past. She adapts pretty well to her situation considering she is without many of life's necessity like a bathroom. She is funny, intelligent and very feisty. She gives as good as she gets. Sean is the alpha male and the leader of his clan. He is taken aback by Chloe's speech, her actions and his attraction to her. Sean is not use to having a woman who will not follow his orders just because he has said so. These two characters light up the pages, whether they are just talking or enjoying each other. They are well drawn and the reader could feel Chloe and Sean's frustrations as they try to adapt to their new situations. There are quite a few secondary characters and the reader would have loved to find out what happened to Terri and Ian. Hopefully there will be a follow up to this book!!
The Fairy Ring was an extremely fun read. This book has humor, romance, eroticism and adventure. The characters were well developed and quite memorable. The plotline was fast paced and did not stop till the last page. If you enjoy paranormal time travel romances, this one will give you much enjoyment.
