Cowboy and The Captive
Melina Catarina Angeles has always protected her older twin sister, but this time her sister has gone too far, and Melina refuses to protect her or suffer her punishment anymore. When she meets Luc for the first time, she realizes her sister will never feel remorse or atone for her past wrongs, no matter what she and her family do to help her. She is also tormented by the fact that the only man she has ever been attracted to, thinks she is slime…all because of what her sister has done.
Luc Jardin remembered the wrong that Melina did to him years before and has always wanted to get even. His opportunity comes when Melina finally crosses a line her rich family cannot protect her from and he kidnaps her. Why is it he has different feelings for this Melina than the one he met earlier, who tried to kill him on their first meeting?
Will Melina submit to the punishment lined up for her by Luc? Will they be able to co-exist without killing each other? Well you'll have to buy the book to find out…
This story is a powerful contemporary romance, with a driving drama and tension between the main characters that makes you keep reading until the end. In the story Ms. Leigh builds the sexual chemistry and tension between the main characters and it is so explosive, you hold your breath in anticipation.
Rarely have I encountered love scenes that were as erotic and blisteringly sensual as in this story. They were also poetic and exquisitely touching, scenes that brought goose bumps and tears to this reviewer's eye. A difficult thing to do but Ms. Leigh seems to do it without compromising the heat and intensity of the scenes or the plot of the story.
Cowboy And The Captive is a different flavor to many of Lora Leigh's books in the fact that it is not touched with any paranormal aspect, but very much her style of writing in the depths of emotion felt as a reader and the ability to almost immediately empathize with these characters. Ms. Leigh seems able to pull the reader into the story blindingly and seamlessly, which makes this book another keeper. It is an A+ read and well worth the money and time. Get your copy because it is most definitely worth the 5 rating it's getting.
