Maya has been captured by the Pug Lord slavers to serve as a sexual pleasure pet. She has been trained by months of humiliation and the application of pain to serve her new master, whoever that may be. The men of Z’dar, though they are strong physically, are at the mercy of the femmen, the females of their race, who only allow them sex during the full moon, and treat them like dirt the rest of the time. The ship that Maya is in crashes on Z’dar, and she is rescued from the flames by Prince Black Fall and Black Dun, his brother and second-in-command. These men are surprised and intrigued by this new creature who is soft and gentle, the complete opposite of the femmen. Both Maya and the men have a lot of culture shock to overcome as they learn the possibilities of their new relationship.

This novella is a well-written piece of science fiction erotica. While it contains extreme erotica involving sexual slavery and domination, this aspect of the story is subsumed by the very creative science fiction plot surrounding it. In fact, as I was reading I found myself more intrigued by and interested in the science fiction than the erotica. This is not to say that the erotica aspects of the story were sub-par; that is not the case at all. I found the sex scenes to be unusually fresh in concept and execution. The protagonists come across as sympathetic characters, and I found myself rooting for them against their enemies. I found it an enjoyable story and recommend it highly!
