The Truth About Cats and Dogs

Lori Foster: Tailspin When Buck Boswell agrees to dog sit for his friend’s pet Chihuahua, he has no idea that Butch will help him secure the woman of his dreams. Buck has been trying to get to know his quiet, almost reclusive neighbor Sadie Harte, ever since she moved in three months ago. She consistently turns down his invitations and ignores his friendly overtures and subtle flirting. When Butch falls head over tails in love with her pet Chihuahua, Tish, he finally has an opening that she can’t ignore.

This was an adorable story. Buck is such a sweet and loving guy and is the perfect match for the shy and proper Sadie. I loved the way the personalities of Sadie and Tish complimented each other and the fact that Buck is determined to win over not only the woman but also her dog.

Kristine Rolofson: Secondhand Sam Sam Grogan is having a really bad day. While waiting at the church for his wedding to begin, he is informed that his bride has changed her mind and there will be no wedding. On the way home his massive English mastiff dog goes loping across a parking-lot and causes a decrepit van to plow into a dumpster. Sam can only hope that the occupant is not hurt; he doesn’t need a lawsuit on top of being jilted at the altar. Jessica Hall is having a really bad day. She is on a cross-country mission to save three Pekingese dogs from certain death. Jess picked them up from the shelter and is on her way to deliver them to a shelter that will find homes for them. Unfortunately her van is on its last leg and plowing into a dumpster to avoid the dog-as-big-as-a-horse did nothing to help her situation.

Can two people having the worst day of their lives recognize fate disguised as bad luck and find a happily ever after? This is truly one of the most heart warming and tender love stories that I have read in a while and is a true testimony to the phrase “when life hands you lemons, make lemonade.”

Caroline Burnes: Familiar Pursuit Dr. Penny Jameson is thrilled when her uncle Peter and his pet cat Familiar help her cut the ribbon at the opening of her very own animal clinic. She hopes that the day will be exciting but never dreams of what is in store for the day. The little girl, Miranda, who rushes in with a box of abandoned kittens begging Penny to save them is rather normal as kids are always finding animals in need of help and Miranda’s father, Mack, coming into the clinic searching for his daughter is also rather “normal”. Things turn scary when they are still searching for Miranda hours later and discover that the little girl may have stumbled into a very dangerous situation and her safety may very well be in the paws of a cat.

A very entertaining, exciting and heart warming story with a bit of a twist as part of the story is told through the voice of the cat, Familiar.

These three talented ladies have combined their writing skills and love of animals to create a book where a portion of the sales will go to assist an animal agency of their choice. You can provide yourself with a few hours of romance and also provide help for some needy animals. Hats off to Lori Foster, and Caroline Burnes for taking a stand and making a difference.
