Shannon Selkirk hears the call of the selkie every night in her sleep. Shannon's new stepmother wants to change Shannon from a wild hoyden who runs freely throughout her Scottish land, to a true English lady, dressed in fineries and silks and satins. She is unable to sneak out to see her seal man now though, and Shannon worries that he will abandon her. Will she find a way to see her selkie or will her stepmother ship her off to London before she has a chance to profess her love?

This is an Ellora's Cave Quickie, so it is short, but it is a good story despite its length. Though the plot isn't developed that much, author Leda Swann definitely makes use of the pages she has. She creates an erotic world filled with moonlit swims, making love on a seal skin, and learning that love can come in all shapes and forms. This was a sensual story with an ending that left me surprised. Though I predicted a happily-ever-after for Shannon, I did not see it happening in the way it did. Sunlit is the perfect read if you are looking for a quick, erotic, and paranormal story.
