His Saxon Slave
Kiana, a Saxon, has been captured by the Norman invaders. She has been claimed as the property of Lord Bonar De Skye or the Black Boar. Kiana fears her fate, as she knows what awaits her. Surprisingly, Lord Bonar does not rape her, but begins a seduction that will bring her to him willingly.
Kiana is a beautiful, talented, and courageous girl. Her physical attributes attract not only Bonar, but also his liege lord's son, Sinnot. Kiana prefers Bonar, but since she is a spoil of war, she has no choice in the matter. Bonar is a hardened warrior. He hasn't had the time or the inclination to learn about women. Kiana draws out feelings he didn't think existed. He feels protective of his slave and soon realizes he loves her. He makes an effort to find out how to satisfy her sexually and proceeds to worm his way into her heart. The sexual action is plentiful between the two as they indulge in the master/slave scenario.
His Saxon Slave contains graphic sexual content and language. There is also a fair amount of physical violence, which is not unusual given the time frame this story is set in. This is a short novella consisting of only 60 pages thus the main characters aren't fully fleshed out, but Ms. Fonda gives us enough information to understand them. Bonar and Kiana are very likable characters and the reader does want them to have their happily ever ending. The author gives us a tremendous amount of action, suspense, and secondary characters within those pages that carry the story forward. Ultimately, this is a story of a man, a woman, and their journey together to self-discovery and love.
