Echo is a Greek nymph cursed to exist as a statue in a museum. Fortunately, sometimes she is able to turn her spirit to flesh. Recently she has taken to watching an old flame and his wife make love. Alex is the security guard who discovers Echo's secret.

Alex is entranced by Echo's beauty. Once he catches her watching her old flame, he offers her the chance to make love. This act of passion leaves Echo human, unable to return to her statue. Aphrodite offers Echo the chance to remain human if she can manage to win Alex's love in two months. There's one problem-Alex had his heart shattered by his previous girlfriend and wants nothing to do with women or love ever again.

Will Echo be able to win his heart or will she be doomed to spend eternity as a shade, unable even to return to her statue?

Ms. Starr's second entry into the Divine Interventions series is divine indeed. I found myself unable to put the book down, so caught up was I into Echo and Alex's story. I felt Echo's hopelessness and heartbreak as Alex patently refused to admit his love. I was also very proud of Echo as she made a niche for herself in a world so different from the one she came from.

Ms. Starr made me care about the female lead, though I thought the male lead was a jerk at times. I am sure that this is how we are meant to feel about him as he refuses to admit his feelings for our heroine.

Ms. Starr also created a rich cast of secondary characters who bring added verve into the story. I sincerely hope that Nemesis and Pan will have a story of their own.

Echo in the Hall is wonderful and well written. I was compelled to stay up until the wee hours of the morning so that I could finish the story and learn what happened between Echo and Alex.
