Hi Hollie! First, I want to thank you for taking the time to talk with us. Hired Help is about a rich Hollywood producer whose being targeted. His two spoiled daughters defy him in anyway and when he brings in a 'bodyguard' to protect them, they will do anything to get away from this sexy bossy stud. They are use to having things their way and he is not about to allow them to get hurt.
I saw that you have several books already underway that will be published by Extasy, HIRED HELP and Forever Love, just to name a couple. Can you tell us a little about each story and when we can expect them to come out?
Hired Help is about a rich Hollywood producer whose being targeted. His two spoiled daughters defy him in anyway and when he brings in a 'bodyguard' to protect them, they will do anything to get away from this sexy bossy stud. They are use to having things their way and he is not about to allow them to get hurt.
Forever Love is about friends that grow up together and one night causes a huge uproar in their lives. Feelings surface and things will never be the same again.
I have more coming out. Bordello Boys was just accepted by Extasy and Master Corbin is a WIP.
Why erotica? What was it about the genre that attracted you?
You know I don't start out any book thinking of a Genre. I write what I want and what I feel at that time. What I may start out writing usually isn't what I end up with. Erotic books are human nature. I don't see anything wrong with describing what is usually happening in the bedroom.
Which is more difficult, punctuation or grammar?
All I can say is THANK GOD FOR EDITORS. I have always loved to write but hated the editing part of it all. So what is more difficult? Punctuation, grammar, it all falls hand in hand for me.
Do you base some of your characters qualities and characteristics on people in your own life?
Oh yes, My characters are a mix of me, some good friends, some not so good friends and some people I haven't met.
Tell us what your desk looks like. Organized or organized chaos?
My make up sits on my desk, my pens, my home homework, my lotion, my vitamins, my hair clips, my stitched cross my pastor gave me and a Precious Moments girl holding a musical note. I love music. It is usually organized because I hate chaos and mess.
With your unbelievably busy schedule, what do you do when you just need to breathe?
I go to Church. Every Sunday I recharge my battery. It helps me to prioritize things in my life. I write, I sing, I scream, I read. I just escape…I go to church to help with my weaknesses like getting upset with stupid people. I have grown a lot. I have learned to let go and let God.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Stupid People…I cannot stand dramatic people. People that live to create bullshit in other's lives. I hate copycats that have no real ideas of their own. I cannot stand people who kiss ass or sugar coat the truth. I don't like people who lie and play on people's emotions to sell books, or to get attention. I don't like a two faced person. If you don't have the balls to say it to me then don't say it because the person you are telling will eventually tell someone else and Lord knows it gets back to the person you are mouthing about.
But most of all I say to these asinine people SAVE THE DRAMA FOR YOUR MAMA!!
What do you believe is your best personality trait, and what is your worst?
My worse? My mouth, I will tell you how I feel and I'm sorry if it hurts but damn it don't ask me if you don't want the truth. I don't have time for stupid people.
My best? I have a huge heart and will give you the shirt of my back if you need it, work for it and deserve it. If not I wont give you the time of day. If you want something bad enough in life, get off your ass and work for it.
I know you have always been a huge wrestling fan. What was the initial draw?
I was five years old when I first started watching wrestling. The VonErichs were it. David VonErich was my hero, and then he died. Kerry was the moon and starts to me. I adored that man and watched as their world came crashing down. A hero? Doris Adkisson is one of the strongest, toughest, most courageous women. She is a true hero and I know God has a special place reserved for her.
You have some beautiful and emotional poems on your website. Is writing poetry your therapy when you're stressed?
I use to write poetry everyday. It was my anti depressant. I had a hard childhood, very hard and my poetry shows that. I use to write poems for my friends to give their boyfriends. I loved it.
You are a self-proclaimed pen thief
. Do you have a favorite pen in your collection? Is there one that is particularly unusual?
I just love pens. I don't have a favorite right now. I have light up ones, musical ones, just a lot. I love the fat pens and ones that write nice.
Is there anything that you would like to add before we go?
The Willing Warrior went on sale August 13, 2004. I had fun with this one.
Go check it out at www.extasybooks.com
