Annmarie McKenna Interview

Today I am speaking with Annmarie McKenna.

Hi Annmarie! And welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews! It is really wonderful to have you with us today. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer some questions for us. The readers are eager to hear about Annmarie McKenna.
Thanks for the opportunity! I'll do my best to answer them.

Annmarie, I love your website with the steamy romantic suspense theme. Two Sighted, Why not tell the readers about your newest release?
Two Sighted is a paranormal, steamy, short romance and the first of a two book series. My heroine, Aislinn has the ability to "see" future events and has a gruesome vision about her boss, Kyle Turner III. Kyle knows about his personal assistant's gift but it doesn't stop him from wanting her, it only brings out his protective nature. He'll need every bit of that to get them through the night.

What do you think about the e-book industry and its progress for the future?
I know that my husband loves the e-book industry because it means he doesn't have to deal with the overflow of paper books, LOL. Seriously I think e-books are the future. I believe even the NY houses will eventually offer their books in e-format.

Do you have an agent or considered getting one?
I do not have an agent at this time and haven't really thought about it yet. Well, okay that's not true, I've thought about it, but...

Have you ever written a screenplay or considered doing so?
No.

Do you get a toasty feeling all over to see your book in print?
I love seeing my books in print. It's very cool to walk into a bookstore, see them on the shelf and know that I wrote them. I am, however, to shy to tell anyone close by that they're mine.

What were some of the greatest joys after the release of your first book?
Getting emails from readers who said they loved it, watching it go up on Samhain's Top Ten Seller list, and that first day it went live--getting all the congratulations from readers and authors about that day's new releases. It's kind of a surreal feeling.

Do you have problems promoting yourself?
I admit to being a complete goober when it comes to promotion. For one because I am shy and don't like to tell people who I am (RT is going to be very hard for me, LOL), and two, because there are so many ways to promote out there and I probably only know a few of them.

Do you find promotion hard work?
It isn't so much that it's hard, but that it is time consuming.

What are some of the avenues you've used for self-promotion?
For the first time, I've bought magnets, which will be seen at RT, and I have these really cool Blackmailed envelopes. I do as many chats as I can, post my covers when I can, join the loops, blog. It's never ending.

If you had the opportunity to work with any author, past or present who would you choose?
Actually, I am writing with the Jen half of Ashleigh Raine on a couple of futuristics :)

Is there anything off the top of your head that you would like to share with your readers?
Ooh, is this my chance to promo the new anthologies coming out this summer from Samhain? Twenty four fabulous authors have written short stories for Samhain's Midsummer Night's Steam line which will release on Fridays from June 1 to August 31. Just about every genre is represented--contemporary, historical, m/m, ménage, paranormal--and best of all they are all red hot! It's going to be a hot summer...

If you could change one thing about the way you write, what would it be?
I love surprise endings and books that have so many twists and turns you get lost in them. Totally knock-your-socks-off, OMG, no way endings that make me go back and look for clues I missed to get to that conclusion. Just once, I want to write something like that.

Are you an organized person?
Absolutely :) Not. I am the least organized person you'll ever meet probably. Okay, not as bad as some of the people I've seen on those shows where they go through your room/house and do a make-over. Holy crap, those people make me look really good. And I thank them for it. I like to refer to my space as organized chaos. I know exactly where everything is. No one else does, but hey.

Who is your favorite actor that you could watch in any movie over and over?
I don't think I have one. Hmm...

Do you have a website other than www.annmariemckenna.com that you would like to share with your readers?
I have a blog: www.annmariemckenna.blogspot.com and am now a member of a manlove blog with a great group of other manlove authors. You can find us here: www.slash-and-burn.blogpsot.com

For Fun: What is your best comfort food?
Tacos

Which do you prefer Coffee or Tea?
Coffee--peppermint mocha, yum.

And of all the cities to visit in the U.S. which would you say would be the best to take a trip?
I love going to historical places. We went to Virginia Beach one year and visited Jamestown which was really cool. We decided against Williamsburg at the time since we were with three very small children but I would love to go back with my hubby to visit.

Annmarie, thank you so much for chatting with us today. Anyone interested in reading more about Annmarie and her exciting books, please visit her website to read more about her magnificent works. It has indeed been a pleasure Annmarie. Good luck to you and your writing.
