Judy Mays Interview

Today I have the opportunity to speak to Judy Mays.

Hi Judy! And welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews! I am looking forward to hearing your answers on our questions today and hearing about your releases.

I notice you live in Pennsylvania. I bet you get quite a bit of snow during the winter time. Living in the colder temps, do you look forward to the arrival of the snow and building a snowman?
I always have especially when my boys were younger. However, it seems like lately, we've been on the rain/snow line, and our winters have had more rain than snow.

I also notice you write under Sara Powell. Do you find this difficult in writing under two names at any. time?
I only wrote two books under Sara Powell and have since written everything as Judy Mays. My fans lost me. *G*

Now that we have chatted a bit, why not tell the readers about your latest release?
My latest release, Jingle Buns from Changeling Press, was the third book of my Jingle Christmas trilogy the other two being Jingle Balls and Jingle Bites. It's the story of Daniella Becker, a pastry shoppe owner from Chicago who has trouble keeping a man because of a tiny birth defect, an enlarged clitorus. When Maximillian Arnalt walks into her pastry shoppe, her friends immediately try to fix her up with the German tourist because "everybody" knows Germans like kinky sex. The one thing they don't know is that Maximillian is a vampire. He's not intimidated by Daniella's birth defect in the least.

With the New Year right around the corner, what can we look forward to from Judy Mays?
A quick Celestial Passions story about how two minor characters, Meri and Adem from Celestial Passions: Brianna met. After that, another one of my wolfie Heat stories - Melody Gray's.

Is there anything different that you would change about your writing?
I only hope more and more people discover and buy them.

When you finish a story, is it hard letting go of the characters?
Very. I've never written a story that I couldn't spin off with minor characters. They're very vehement about me telling their stories too. I can't write fast enough to keep up with all of them.

How did you feel when you got your first contract?
Absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!

Do you outline your stories or just go with the flow?
I go with the flow.

Have you ever written a screenplay?
No. That's a horse of a different color.

Do you have any bad habits that you would like to share with the readers?
Procrastination - put off until tomorrow what you can do tomorrow - or the next day. I'm also a lousy housekeeper.

Food Network phones you to say they want you to come to their show and cook with any of their cooks. Who would you choose to spend time with cooking?
I do like Emeril. I also like Shane from the low-carb kitchen.

You have been asked to write an article on the perfect vacation, what would you put in the column?
Ireland - I swear my soul is Irish. I'd love to spend an entire summer or longer there.

If you could be any instrument, which one would you choose?
Piano, I think although I wouldn't mind bashing about on the drums.

Who is your favorite actor?
Many of my heroes are modeled after Adrian Paul from The Highlander series. Others are modeled after Sean Connery - after James Bond.

If your book were to be turned into a movie, what actor/actress would you insist play the part?
Tough one. I'd have to get to know a little bit about their true personalities. I'd have to have the right fit, and I can't imagine anyone other than Sean Connery playing the role of Artemis from Perfumed Heat.

Judy, why not share your website with your readers and any other loops you might have so everyone can see what you have going on and where they can purchase your books.
My website and my group where I often run surprise contests for members only.

Thank you for spending the morning with us. Anyone interested in reading more about Judy and her great books please visit her website and see what she has available and coming soon.
