Isabella Snow Interview

Today I am speaking with Isabella Snow. Hi Isabella and welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews today. There are some anxious readers that would love to know more about Isabella Snow.

I love the cover of Claiming the Kitten; why not begin by telling us about the book?
Hi Linda! :)

Ooh, thank you, the cover is really spectacular, isn't it? I asked for something along the lines of an old-school bodice ripper and that's what Christine M. Griffin created for me. I squeeeeeeed for some 30 minutes after I received it, lol.
So hmm, let's see.. something about the book..

Kitten started out as something I was just writing for myself. I never actually intended to publish it, or even try. To be honest, I was having trouble finding a capture fantasy that didn't make me uncomfortable. A lot of them contain scenes that border rape, or involve hardcore BDSM play that left me squeamish. So I was just writing it for myself, originally.

The story starts in Prague, with Alexandra Scott leaving work in a hurry one night. She falls on her way home and is "rescued" by Lucius Sinclair -- a gorgeous hunk of man who ties her up and takes her home with him. :) It's ok though, he's a good man with good intentions, so don't fret, y'all!

From there the story gets quite racy. Lots o' smut in this book, I have to say, lol. The tale unfolds over the course of a very long weekend. Essentially, it's pretty much Lucius doing his dangdest to prove how much Alexandra wants him. And boy, does she.;) I don't want to give away too much.. but I promise there's a happy ending.

Would you care to expound on some of your other upcoming projects?
I'm halfway done another capture fantasy at the moment. This one starts a bit differently, as the heroine isn't captured by a man she's never met. But she IS captured, I promise, lol. It takes place in Chicago and Italy. I also have another novel I'm ready to start on, as soon as I finish the current one. The second is also capture, but takes place in WW2 era Germany.

What was the first story you ever wrote? Published or unpublished?
Kitten is the first book I've ever written, and the first published.

How many hours a day do you spend writing?
I spend probably 7 or 8 hours a day working on a book, but part of that time is reading it over and over and editing, too.

Do you go with the flow or form an outline when you write?
I start out with a scene in my head and go from there. Then when I've reached about 10,000 words, give or take, I sketch an outline for the rest of the book. I have to, or it'll never end, lol. Things usually change a bit here and there, but for the most part I stick to it once it's formed.

What is the best advice that anyone ever gave you?
Trust your instincts.

What are some of your hobbies besides writing?
I shoot a lot of pool and lose badly at chess whenever I have time.

We all have one, so tell us yours. What is your favorite comfort food?
I have the worst eating habits in the world. I go through phases where I just eat one or two things over and over again for month or so. Right now, I think my favorite comfort food is pistachio nuts. I could eat 5 pounds faster than you can say "straight to your hips, girl!".

Was there any one person or event in your life that finally inspired you to sit down and write your first book?
The fervor with which Kitten was written probably stemmed from lack of a real man in my life, lol. I got tired of waiting for a good one, so I created him. ;)

Do you have a favorite movie that you could watch over and over again?
Omigod, the new James Bond film, Casino Royale. I am IN LOVE with Daniel Craig and want to be his love slave for the next 500 years. I can watch that movie over and over and over and over...

Isabella, do you have another website other than, www.isabellasnow.com that you would like to share?
I have a little blog I tinker with at www.isabellasnow.blogspot.com It's not really writing based, though I do post excerpts and the like on it. Primarily it’s just a platform to talk nonsense in the least profound manner possible. Lots of sex talk, really. I'm still a bit frustrated, apparently, lol.

Do you belong to any groups, or loops that help you promote your writing?
I'm a member of loads, actually! But I'm terrible at posting on them. I'm chatloop - challenged! But occasionally I surprise even myself and manage to send an excerpt or two in correctly. It's always a champagne moment when I manage not to screw an email up. ;))

Isabella, it has been a pleasure having you with us today. We look forward to reading your books and your upcoming works. And if I may add, I love your name, it is really lovely.
Thank you so much for having me, Linda, and everyone else at Fallen Angel! And thank you for the compliment on my name. :) Best wishes for a healthy and happy 2007! :))
