Dreamspinner Press Interview

Today I am speaking with Elizabeth with Dreamspinner Press. Fallen Angel Reviews would like to welcome Dreamspinner Press: Where Dreams Come True.

Why not begin by telling us how long Dreamspinner Press has been opened?
Dreamspinner Press released its first book in May of 2007, so we've officially been open for 10 months and have twelve full length titles in print and thirty-three shorter eFiction titles.

As I was searching the website, I noticed there are short stories, nap-size reads, as well as books. There are quite a few new releases too.

Would you care to elaborate on a few of these reads as well as the authors?
We started with a concept for an anthology of novella length fiction - Size Matters: Short Stories Long Enough to Satisfy. Each title contains four or five stories, totaling more than 400 pages. There have been two other releases in that series - Size Still Matters and Desire Beyond Death. Our novels include contemporary romance, science fiction, fantasy and historical. Our short fiction started as a way for our readers to try a new author with very little risk.

Will Dreamspinner Press always only accept Gay Erotic Submissions?
Yes, our purpose in creating Dreamspinner was to create a press focused on Gay Romance and Gay Erotic Romance. All genres are welcome as long as the primary or secondary plot involves the development of a gay relationship.

Do you feel more women contribute submissions with Gay content then men?
Initially our submissions were mainly from women, but for the last four months they are running about even. We do still have more female readers.

Do you have many authors published with Dreamspinner?
We have eighteen authors that have published with us and another ten that are contracted for releases over the next three months.

Do you have any encouraging words for those who wish to submit to your press?
Try it. We welcome new submissions from anyone as long as their story fits with our content guidelines. We aren't a big company so you will get to know us and receive one on one attention. Our goal is help our authors flourish.

Are there any current contests or submissions going on at this time you would like to share?
We don't have any current contests, but our monthly newsletter always contains either a giveaway contest or discount code. You can sign up here… http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/newsletter.htm
Currently we have two open calls for submissions: Sandals & Sodomy and Make Me a Match. The descriptions can be found on our site here… http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/opencalls.htm

Is there anything you would like to add that has not been discussed?
Romance is all about love and fantasy. There isn't a better job to have than to help more people experience a little romance.

What can everyone expect in the future with Dreamspinner Press?
We are continuing to grow. Every month has a new print release scheduled for the first and the fifteenth and March launched our new eFiction line. We have a series of four fantastic novels starting in May with Partnership in Blood - an alliance between vampires and wizards attempts to save the world. Twisted Brand, the sequel to The Gold Warrior will be released in June and we will be starting two different mystery series over the summer. It is going to be an exciting second year for Dreamspinner Press.

I would like to take this time to thank you for this interview. I like the colors of the website and how it is easy to navigate.
