Hello
Rhiannon and welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews. The readers are eager to hear from
Rhiannon Neely and what she is up to.
Rhiannon, why not us what a day with
Rhiannon is like?
My days are bit backward. I go to bed around 9 am and rise around 3 pm. No, I'm not a vampire. LOL. I work nights. After I rise, I have a cup of coffee, then sit down at the computer for an hour or so catching up with email, etc. then I grab a shower, make dinner, sit back down at the computer and write or edit or work on promotion. Sometimes I do indulge in playing a game but it's rare. While doing all this I'm also talking to my family and playing with my new puppy. I recently adopted a Cairn Terrier and her name is Lucy. She's very entertaining to say the least. Around 8 pm or so I either try to grab a nap before work or I continue writing-whichever calls to me the most…sleep or my characters. At 11 pm it's off to work and the cycle starts all over again.
Can you tell the readers about your latest release?
Ravens 5: HOLT, released by Whispers Publishing in ebook format is my latest release. The fifth installment of the Raven Series follows Holt Raven-the strong, silent and very intimidating member of the Raven Clan-on a mission to find a clutch of vampires who are sailing the deep waters of Lake Michigan on a boat dubbed 'The Bloody Hell'. Right from the start, his mission becomes complicated. He crashes into private investigator Ivy Green and realizes soon enough that getting rid of the impish, stubborn woman is not going to be easy.
Do you have any upcoming events or books for the future?
Oh yes, you bet. I've got some great things in store for this year. My Raven Series is set to be releases in print by Enspiren Press beginning later this year. Enspiren will also be releasing five other titles of mine in print, two which are brand new and never before released. Coming in September is the re-release of a novel I wrote about my grandmother. It's titled Yellow Mountain and will be released in print by Vintage Romance Publishing. Coming up really soon I have two other ebook releases. April 3rd will be the re-release of my EPPIE Award winning title, Rhiannon's Run and Other Tales by Chris Neeley from Forbidden Publications. A Chris Neeley title, it's a collection of chilling tales and dark fiction. April 11th will be the release of Ravens 6: ROGUE from Whispers Publishing in ebook format. May 9th will be the release date for Ravens 7: COLIN from Whispers Publishing in ebook format. I have lots of other things going on this year that haven't been finalized just yet but I will keep everyone updated on my schedule at my website and through my newsletter group.
Do you find you have to go through many drafts/edits to get it polished just right?
What is normal for me is to write a full first draft and then go back through the whole thing three more times. That's before I send it in to an editor for consideration. Then, of course, after it's contracted, it will go through editing two or three more times with the fresh set of eyes of my editor who will catch what I still managed to miss myself.
How do you keep your ideas fresh and imaginative?
I write about people and situations that would interest me. In that way, I hope to keep things interesting and alive. I guess I think if it would interest me…it would interest someone else.
Can you share one lesson you've learned since becoming a writer that you feel can help others who are looking to become full time writers?
A lot of writing is re-writing. I've learned that my words are not written in stone and sometimes re-writing can make the work so much stronger. You have to be willing to re-write until it 'feels' right.
How long did it take to find the right publisher for your works?
It varies with each novel. I've got one novel that I let sit for a year before I even started sending it out. I will tell you I'm happy with my publishers. They're easy to work with and very professional.
When would you say is your favorite time to compose?
I am usually at the computer around 4 pm until 6 pm. It's actually when I'm starting my day so you could say I'm more productive when I first wake up.
Do you have a website or myspace you would like to share with us?

If you could be any exotic animal which would you be?
That's a hard one. There are so many animals it would be fun to be. If I had to choose one I would choose the dolphin. To be able to glide through the ocean, communicate with other dolphins and be smart to boot would be awesome.
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Ben and Jerry's Caramel Sutra. Hands down.
Which room in your home would you say is your favorite?
The family room. It's cozy, very cabin-like, with a big comfy couch, TV, fireplace and usually my hubby beside me. Our family room just feels like 'family'.
You have been given a free vacation trip to, Africa, China or Hong Kong, which would you choose and why?
Most definitely Africa. The wildness of it is intriguing. The animals, the huge spaces of it…I guess Africa would feel more foreign to me, as if I were in a different world.
I cannot thank you enough,
Rhiannon for being with us today. I wish you the best with all your books.
