Good morning, today we have the privilege of interviewing romance author,
Margay Leah Justice.
Margay welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews, it is good to have you with us. Why not sit and relax and allow the audience to get to know more about
Margay.
Thank you so much for having me here today. I am looking forward to our time together.
I like your slogan, ‘open the mind...and the heart will follow’. I believe writing is your passion. Nora’s Soul sounds very interesting. Why not tell the readers about your latest release?
Thank you, I like the slogan, too. It was just something that came to me that solidifies how I feel about writing in general. About Nora’s Soul, it is a book about choices, faith and redemption, but ultimately, it is about love. Nora Kendall is at a crossroads in her life when she is visited by angels again, whom she abandoned years before upon the death of her brother. Despite her lack of faith, however, they won’t leave her alone. But here’s the twist, one is a light angel, here to protect her soul and her place in heaven and one is a dark angel with his own designs on her soul. She is caught in the middle of their struggle and of course, the ultimate prize is Nora’s Soul.
How long did it take you to compose the story?
I’ve been kicking the idea around for a few years, since I first had the two interconnected dreams that first birthed the idea of Nora’s Soul. Once I began writing it, however, it was only a matter of about two or three years from the first draft to the one that was published.
Margay, as a romance author, do you always believe in happily-ever-after?
Of course! Sometimes, though, a happily ever after can be the life a single mom builds with her kids or a workaholic builds with his business. I believe happily ever after is achieved when you can look at your life with enough satisfaction to think, “This is good. Anything else on top of this would just be an added treat.”
What is your absolute best genre to Read?
I absolutely love the Regency genre, thanks to authors like Julia Quinn, Sabrina Jeffries and Lisa Kleypas. But I am discovering other genres that are fascinating, including YA and paranormal. This is a great time for readers and writers alike because there is so much to choose from. I love it!
Do you have any works in progress you would like to share with us?
Well, I am working on the follow-up to Nora’s Soul, which is a continuation of Dante’s story and will likely run the course of at least three more books, depending on how much he’s willing to let me tell you! I also have in the pipeline a story about a shape shifting Native American hero and a reluctant empath heroine who get mixed up in the legends of his people and the machinations of hers. And there are several mainstream stories I am working on that deal with more down to earth subjects like bipolar disorder and family issues.
What are your views on internet publishing and E-Books?
I am all for it! I think E-books are a viable venue for writing and should not be fluffed off as a passing fancy. I think they are here to stay and gaining steadily in popularity.
For a person who doesn’t share in reading, I believe they are missing a great deal. What would you say to them?
My daughters actually went through this phase themselves but, luckily, one discovered Harry Potter, the other discovered manga, and both turned me on to Twilight, so it’s all good! As for what I would say to someone else in that position, they really don’t know what they’re missing. Where else can you go to visit interesting people in far away places and learn something new, have an adventure, fall in love – all for the price of a book? Movies are great, yes, but books allow you to use your imagination and that is something that is sadly lacking in today’s society.
When is your favorite time to compose?
Probably during school hours when I have the computer to myself! But when I’m in the zone, time doesn’t matter; the words just flow.
If you could be any animal, what animal would you be?
Well, my name is actually the name of a South American wildcat (though my mother did not know that at the time that she gave it to me), so of course I’d have to be a cat. And they are my favorite animals.
What is the worse job you have ever had?
Waitressing at a fast food restaurant. That is a hard job and the people are under-appreciated. I used to work the morning shift, so I got the patrons before they were properly caffeinated. They were much nicer after their first cup of coffee, but before – watch out!
What is your favorite restaurant that you can’t be without?
There is a Chinese restaurant in the town I grew up in that is the absolute best – we go there every year for each other’s birthdays.
Finish the sentence: Life is short, so...?
So appreciate the ones you love, never let them leave without saying you love them, and if they let you, hug them often. Take the time to enjoy them and your life.
If you are not allergic to nuts, what is your favorite nut?
I love so many, but cashews are my absolute favorites.

You and your family, along with fifty of your relatives, and friends, have boarded a plane for a vacation of a lifetime. You get to tell the pilot to take you anywhere. What is your destination?
It would have to be the UK where a lot of my relatives are from – England, Scotland and Ireland. That would be the ultimate trip for me. But of course, then I’d have to seek out the rest, the ones from France, Holland, and the Native Americans from Maine and Virginia. That would be one heck of a trip!
Thank you
Margay for spending time with us. It has been a delight, and I wish you the best with your writing.
Linda, thank you so much for having me here. I really enjoyed our time together.
